Philanthropy

# Backing the people who keep the lights on.

A working portfolio of arts-education advocacy, two scholarships founded under Sue's own name, and a longstanding commitment to the Broadway community's most pressing needs.

Sue's philanthropic work focuses on one question: who is missing from the room, and how do we put them in it? That has meant scholarships for students who don't yet have the résumé to compete for one, sustained support for the Broadway community's most critical service organizations, and the kind of quiet capital that keeps young theatre companies alive past their first season.

As a former Leadership Council Co-Chair for **Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS**, she has been close to the organization's frontline work for years — supporting the entertainment-industry community members who face critical health and economic challenges.

Both scholarships are designed to remove the friction that quietly keeps qualified students from applying in the first place.

-   Open to students of all majors 
-   Awarded annually 

A general merit award designed for students who are doing strong, serious work in any field — not only the arts. The grant is intended as a meaningful, low-friction boost at a moment in a student's career when even a modest award can change what is possible.

### Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky Theatre Scholarship

No essay · No GPA minimum

-   For students pursuing theatre 
-   No essay required 
-   No minimum GPA 

A theatre scholarship founded with producing partner Larry Rogowsky. The barriers most often cited by promising young theatre students — essays and minimum GPAs — have been deliberately removed, so that the application reflects the work and the ambition rather than the paperwork.
